Michael Knauth (born January 7, 1983 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian handball player .
Career
Knauth started playing handball in his youth at Bregenz . The 1.80 meter tall and 82 kilogram heavy right wing player secured the Austrian championship title six times with the Vorarlberg team between 2001/02 and 2007/08 . The left-hander has been under contract with Alpla HC Hard since 2008/09 . With the red devils he secured the Austrian championship in 2011/12 , 2012/13 , 2013/14 , 2014/15 and 2016/17 as well as the ÖHB Cup in 2013/14 and 2017/18 .
With Bregenz he played in the EHF Champions League (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), the European Cup Winners' Cup (2004) and with Hard in the EHF Champions League (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018), in the European Cup Winners' Cup (2009), the EHF Cup (2010) and the EHF Europe Cup (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).
For the Austrian national team he scored 46 goals in 28 international matches until December 2009 .
