Michael Lindner (painter)

Michael Lindner (born February 21, 1880 in Pechofen, a district of Mitterteich ; † February 15, 1941 in Straubing ) was a German native and landscape painter .

Michael Lindner was born in 1880 as the son of the brewery owner Anton Lindner and his wife Therese.

Lindner attended the humanistic grammar school in Regensburg , he had already enjoyed drawing and painting as a child , so after graduating from high school he studied at the art academy in Munich . Subsequently, Lindner lived and worked as a professional painter in Stuttgart , Dresden and Eger .

On November 27th, Lindner married Luise Koch in Dresden. During the First World War Michael Lindner served as a paramedic from 1914 to 1918, after which he returned to his home town of Mitterteich and settled there with his wife Luise and four children.

The family moved to Waldsassen in 1929 for economic reasons , to Weiden in 1932 and to Marktredwitz in 1936 . From 1939 to 1940 Michael Lindner worked in Karlsbad (Bohemia).

Due to a professional assignment, Lindner moved to Straubing, where he died after a short stay in hospital. The artist was known as a humble person and a caring family man and was called "Kunstmichl" by his friends.
