Michael Maaser

Michael Maaser (born February 12, 1964 in Steinheim am Main ) is a German historian , archivist at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and a private lecturer at the Department of History at the University of Frankfurt.

Life

Michael Maaser graduated from the High School in Hanau , studied history, philosophy and literature in Frankfurt am Main and received a scholarship from the Gerda Henkel Foundation in Düsseldorf. He worked as a student and research assistant in the university archive in Frankfurt under the direction of Notker Hammerstein , who he succeeded in 2001.

The Department of Philosophy and History received his doctorate in 2001. phil. Since the winter semester 2002/03 Maaser has been teaching modern history at the History Department of the University of Frankfurt. In 2015 he completed his habilitation and has since taught as a private lecturer in modern history.
