Michael Nasackin (also Michael Karlowitsch Nasackin; Russian : Михаил Карлович Насакин; born May 1, 1813 in Märjamaa , Estonia , † November 22, 1882 in Saint Petersburg ) was a major general in the Imperial Russian Army .

Military career

Michael N. began his career as a cadet in the Finnish-Russian Guard Regiment and was promoted to lieutenant in 1830 . In 1835 he joined the Imperial Russian Army and served as an ensign in the Volyn Regiment. In 1838 he was a participant in the Caucasus War . In 1839 he became a Russian lieutenant, in 1842 he became a staff captain and in 1845 a captain. In 1847 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Staroingermanland Infantry Regiment . He was promoted to colonel in 1851 and served from 1853 in the hunter regiment HRH Prince Albert of Saxony. On January 2, 1854, he took command of the New England German 10th Infantry Regiment. His last military service was during the suppression of the Polish uprising of 1863. On December 1, 1863, he submitted his resignation and with the simultaneous promotion to major general, his request was accepted.

Michael Nasackin came from the Baltic-Russian aristocratic family Nasackin . His father was the Russian major general Reinhold Johann Nasackin (1787–1831). Michael N. was married to Vera Koch, their descendants were: Alexandra (1851), Olga (1853), Nicholas (1854), Olga (1856), Michael (1857) and Elizabeth (1858).
