Michael Palm (born December 26, 1971 in Waiblingen near Stuttgart ) is a German game developer and author. He lives near Engen in Hegau.

Life

Michael Palm is the son of the politician Guntram Palm . In 1991 he began studying law at the University of Konstanz . In 1993 he opened with three friends in Konstanz the Seetroll , a specialty shop for comics and games. There are now also branches in the surrounding towns.

Michael Palm develops games of various genres independently and on behalf of him, sometimes in a team with other authors. Among other things, he is an author for trading card games . In 1999 the publishing house "Ars Ludi" was founded.

Together with Sebastian Jakob (Team Telepathic Brothers) Michael Palm developed the trading card game The Simpsons on behalf of Dino AG in 2001 , which was expanded by three editions. For Fishtank, a subsidiary of Ravensburger , the Telepathic Brothers developed the well-known game Behind , which for the first time combined elements of trading card game and tabletop and also appeared on the French market.

In 2006, in collaboration with Lukas Zach, Palm's team partner at Ludocreatix, the trading card game for the popular cartoon series Dragon Hunters was created on behalf of Super RTL . In 2007 the trading card game Need for Speed ​​- Trading Card Game followed for the well-known computer racing game series Need for Speed by Electronic Arts .

In 2009, the "Mach Party!" Games that were developed for the "McDonald's Children's Birthday with TOGGO" in cooperation with Super RTL by the LudoCreatix development team received the Lima Award for "Promotion of the Year".

The revised version of The Carriage Ride to the Devil's Castle - Il Castello del Diavolo , which was revised for the Italian market, won the "Best Card Game of the Year" award in Italy in 2010.

In addition to his development activities, Michael Palm has been the owner of a games shop in Konstanz since 1993 with several branches in the surrounding areas, which mainly sell comics and all kinds of games and organize regular game evenings.
