Michael Pollmann

Wolfgang Michael Pollmann (* 14. August 1961 in Hamburg ) is a German politician of the party Alliance 90 / The Greens Hamburg and political appointee . He was a member of the Hamburg Parliament for the Green Alternative List and since 2015 the State Council of the Agency for Environment and Energy of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

Life and politics

After graduating from high school (1979), Pollmann began studying biology at the University of Hamburg (1980–1986) and was a member of the Hamburg-Eimsbüttel district assembly between 1982 and 1987 . In 1990 the qualified biologist became managing director of the Hamburg Botanical Association. From 1991 to 1992 he was a member of the Hamburg parliament. During this electoral term he was Chairman of the Committee on Ports, Economy and Agriculture for the GAL Group and a member of the Committee on Home Affairs and the Civil Service. From 1991 to 1993 he continued to work in the environmental authority of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

After a commitment to environmental and energy policy in the Hanseatic Office in Brussels (1993–1997), Pollmann became a state councilor for the environmental authority in the Runde Senate , chairman of the supervisory board of the Hamburger Friedhöfe AöR and a member of the supervisory board of several Hamburg public companies. In 2001 he was replaced in the Senate of Beust I by Gregor Kempkens of the Rule of Law Offensive party and between 2001 and 2004 was an expert on the environment and sustainable development. Subsequently he worked for the German Development Service ( DED ) in Peru in the environmental sector from 2004 to 2009 . Since the end of 2009, he has been advising the Peruvian Ministry of the Environment in Lima on behalf of GTZ , and the biologist carried out this task until 2015.

In May 2015, Wolfgang Michael Pollmann was appointed by Senator Jens Kerstan in Senate Scholz II to the State Council for Environment and Energy of the Hamburg Authority for Urban Development and Environment . He succeeded Holger Lange . As part of the reorganization of the Scholz II Senate, Pollmann became State Councilor for the Environment and Energy Agency on July 1, 2015 . He has also held this post in the subsequent Senate Tschentscher I since March 28, 2018 .

Wolfgang Michael Pollmann is married and has two children.
