The red-green Senate Scholz II has been the state government in Hamburg since Olaf Scholz was re- elected as First Mayor on April 15, 2015 . The general election on February 15, 2015 led to the loss of the absolute majority of the SPD in the Hamburg parliament . After coalition talks with the Hamburg Greens , the negotiated coalition agreement was presented to the public on April 8, 2015. At a state members' meeting on April 12, the Greens approved the coalition agreement and the occupation of the Green Senate posts. On April 14th, the Social Democrats approved the agreement.
On April 15, Scholz was re-elected First Mayor with 75 out of 120 votes. Then the senators were elected.
