Michael computer (* 27. May 1980 in Mosbach ) is a German football - goalkeeper coach and sports scientist (Mag.) And former goalkeeper .

Career

As an active soccer player, Computer comes from the youth of SV Schefflenz, later he moved to the junior department of the renowned SV Waldhof Mannheim . During this time he also completed three international junior matches for Germany. He made his debut in an international match in Northern Ireland in 1998 (0-0). From 1999, Computer was under contract with Hamburger SV , where he trained with the professional team with Hans Jörg Butt, among others, and played in the U23 team in the Regionalliga Nord. This was followed in 2001 by a move to the third-class VfR Mannheim , also in the regional league (southern season).

After 34 games at VfR, Computer returned to SV Waldhof in 2002 and played 7 times in the 2nd Bundesliga and 2 times in the DFB Cup. However, the team with the coaches Andy Egli , Walter Pradt and Stefan Kuntz was relegated this season.

Calculator joined the up-and-coming regional league club FC Sachsen Leipzig . He played 25 times for Leipzig, including the opening of the newly built central stadium there (for the 2006 World Cup) in front of 28,000 spectators against Borussia Dortmund .

In 2004 calculator decided to end his professional career. He started studying sports science at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . At the same time he played at 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 , SV Waldhof Mannheim and, at the end, at FC Zuzenhausen. He completed his studies with his master's thesis "The requirement profile and the modern training methodology of the soccer goalkeeper".

In 2008 he started at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim as a goalkeeper coordinator, where he is still responsible for the entire goalkeeping area. Computer's areas of responsibility include the conception, training and scouting of the goalkeepers. He trained the U23 and U19 goalkeepers himself until the end of 2014. Since January 2015, Computer has been primarily responsible for the goalkeeping game in the professional field and also leads the goalkeeper training of the Bundesliga team. He is also in possession of the UEFA Trainer A license. In 2016/17 he took part in the DFB pilot project “UEFA Goalkeeping A License”. Oliver Baumann has been playing uninterrupted and undisputed as the number 1 in the German Bundesliga team since Computers took on responsibility . In addition, TSG Hoffenheim generated revenues of millions from the sales of goalkeepers Koen Casteels (to Wolfsburg), Marvin Schwänke (to Brøndby IF ) and Gregor Kobel (to VfB Stuttgart ). The goalkeeping coaches Steffen Krebs ( Borussia Mönchengladbach ), Marjan Petković ( SV Wehen Wiesbaden ), Fabian Otte ( Burnley FC ) and Dennis Neudahm (1. FC Nürnberg) also found their way into the professional field via TSG Hoffenheim.

From 2009 to 2018 he was an instructor for goalkeeper training at the Badischer Fußballverband and since 2010 a speaker at the German Football Association . He now gives lectures around the world on goalkeeping. 

In 2011 ,rechner started its “Goalkeeping Development” project with the development of goalkeeping-specific software. This was launched on the market in 2015 and is used by numerous national and international professional clubs and by many amateur and youth goalkeeping coaches. In 2017 he founded Goalkeeping Development GmbH with many other offers in the field of goalkeeping.
