Michael Reiter (born March 30, 1988 in Radstadt ) is an Austrian cross-country skier and biathlete .

Michael Reiter starts for the USC Altenmarkt-Zauchensee . He contested his first national and international races at the turn of the year 2004/05. First he ran races in the cross-country alpine cup , in FIS and junior races. In 2007 he took part in the Nordic Junior World Championships in Tarvisio and was 16th in the 10-kilometer freestyle and 14th in the pursuit race. He did not finish his two races at the 2008 Junior World Championships in Malles . In Göstling an der Ybbs in 2008 he became champion at the Austrian championships in the 10-kilometer classic, in 2009 behind Michael Hauser he was runner-up in the 30-kilometer freestyle in Seefeld in Tyrol .

For the 2008/2009 season, Reiter switched to biathlon. He made his debut in the IBU Cup in Obertilliach and was 82nd in his first race, an individual. He won his first points towards the end of the season in an individual in Ridnaun in 23rd place. In the sprint race, he only had to admit defeat to Erik Lesser in second place . In Canmore he took part in the Junior World Championships and finished 21st in the individual, 39 in the sprint, 41 in the pursuit and ten with the relay. At the junior races of the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa , he was 12th in the individual, 16th in the sprint and ninth in the pursuit race.
