Live and act

Michael Richter is the son of the actress Eva Richter, b. Bash. His half-siblings are Ilja Richter , who works as an actor, voice actor and presenter , and Janina Richter, who is known as a voice actress .

In addition to Rainer Brandt and Karlheinz Brunnemann , Richter was one of those responsible for film and television dubbing from the 1970s to the 1990s , who often used so-called Schnodderdeutsch in their work on German dialogue books . While working on the dubbing, language jokes were sometimes crude and exaggerated, freely translated into German , or humorous or commenting lines of dialogue were incorporated where they could not be found in the original sound . Richter was often responsible for the German versions of American, Italian and French B-movies , comedies or adventure films with a comedic touch .

His best-known works as a dialogue book author and dialogue director include Das Söldnerkommando from 1981 and the first German dubbed version of the French feature film The Visitors from 1993. He was also responsible for the German localization of some television series, for example he wrote the dialogue books for the Hill Street Police Station (1981–1987 ), directed dialogue with Remington Steele (1982–1987) and was responsible for the script and direction of the first German version of Starsky & Hutch (1975–1979).

During his work on the American comedy Ace Ventura - An Animal Detective from 1994 Richter cast Stefan Fredrich for the first time on Jim Carrey , who has been Carrey's regular speaker ever since.

Richter is married to the voice actress Karin Buchholz , whom he met while working together.
