Michael Schneider (politician, 1968)
Michael Schneider (born February 15, 1968 in Bonn ) is a German banking specialist and politician ( CDU ).
Life and work
After graduating from high school in 1987, Schneider completed an apprenticeship as a banker by 1989 and in 1990 worked at the Bank für Gemeinwirtschaft (BfG) in Neuwied . He then moved to Dresdner Bank AG and trained as a banking specialist . From 1991 to 1997 he was head of corporate customer support in Erfurt . In 1995 he was appointed authorized signatory and in 1997 director . From 1997 to 2003 Schneider was Area Manager Corporate Customers in Thuringia and from 2003 to 2004 Head of Regional Receivables Management for the East and Bavaria region. Since 2005 he has been a board member of the Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB).
Schneider is married for the second time.

Schneider joined the CDU in 2000 and in the same year became deputy state chairman of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU / CSU in Thuringia (until 2009). From 2001 to 2014 he was state treasurer of the CDU Thuringia , member of the Federal Finance Commission of the CDU and member of the board of trustees of the foundation pension fund of the CDU Germany. In the 2004 state elections, he was elected to the Thuringian state parliament, to which he was a member until his appointment as State Secretary in July 2004. From 2004 to 2005 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the Free State of Thuringia.
Sports
Michael Schneider has been President of the Eissportclub Erfurt (ESC), an internationally successful ice sports club, since 2007 . Since 2010 he has been President of the Thuringian Ice and Roller Sports Association (TERV), the sports association for ice and roller sports in Thuringia, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Thuringian Sports Aid Foundation .
Others
Schneider is honorary commercial judge at the district court of Erfurt and member of the University Council of the University Nordhausen . He is chairman of the supervisory board of the Society for Work and Economy of the Free State of Thuringia (GFAW) and deputy chairman of the supervisory board of bm-t Beteiligungsmanagement thüringen gmbh, both in Erfurt.
In 2016 he was elected as state treasurer to the presidium of the German Red Cross regional association of Thuringia. At the same time he was appointed chairman of the supervisory board of the DRK non-profit hospital company Thuringia-Brandenburg mbH, Bad Frankenhausen , and a member of the supervisory board of the DRK non-profit care company Thuringia mbH, Erfurt.
