Michael Sieber

Michael Sieber (born February 10, 1947 in Rauenberg , Rhein-Neckar-Kreis ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After graduating from high school in Buchen in 1966 , he studied political science and law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim. In 1974 and 1977 he took his state exams. Then he worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and at the Baden-Württemberg State Representation in Bonn.

Sieber began his political career in 1971 in Rauenberg, where he was on the local council until 1989. From 1971 he was a member of the district council of the (former) district of Heidelberg. After the district reform (1973), Sieber was a member of the district council of the Rhein-Neckar district from 1973 to 1979 and from 1984 to 1989. In 1984 he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , of which he was a member until 2006. From 1991 to 1998 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From November 11, 1998 to June 14, 2006 Sieber was political state secretary in the Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg . His successor was Dietrich Birk .

On May 11, 2007 he received the honorary citizenship of his hometown Rauenberg.

Sieber is married and has two children. He has been a member of the KDSt.V. since 1970 . Ferdinandea-Prag zu Heidelberg in the Cartellverband (CV) and has been chairman of the Bremen Rudolf-Alexander-Schröder-Foundation since 2006 , which awards the Bremen Literature Prize every year and organizes the Bremen Literary Week.
