Selected reception

His work Discipline and Desertion , published by Duncker & Humblot . Structural problems of military organization in the 18th century were reviewed in 1997 by the historian Ralf Pröve in the historical journal : “The work, clearly written over long stretches, represents an important contribution to modern desertion research; It remains to be hoped that further, more empirically socio-historical studies will deal with the results of the Vf. in the next few years. "

The pedagogue Dieter Wunder reviewed his book The Adel in the Early Modern Era 2009 on H-Soz-u-Kult with: “With a very knowledgeable and balanced presentation, Sikora succeeded in writing an easy-to-read, sometimes exciting book that stimulates and sets interesting priorities. So it became more than an introduction. It would have been desirable that the publisher would have had Sikora commented on the 26 source excerpts enclosed with the text. Unfortunately there are no photo references. "

In the same year, the historian Walter Demel commented on Sehepunkte : “He not only dealt with a very broad spectrum of topics and also presented an almost complete list of the latest literature. Above all, he has written a book that is worth reading, one that has less strength in abstraction or precise legal naming, but all the more in descriptive and concrete terms. "
