Mikhail Ivanovich Choglokov
Mikhail Ivanovich Tschoglokow ( Russian Михаил Иванович Чоглоков ; * around 1650, † around 1710) was a Russian builder , architect and painter of the Baroque .
Life
Choglokow learned from the icon painter Ivan Artemyevich Besmin , one of the masters of the armory of the Moscow Kremlin .
Tschoglokow was in close contact with Christof Konrad involved in the construction of the arsenal of the Moscow Kremlin .
By order of Peter I planned and built Tchoglokov 1692-1695 in Moscow as a guard and observation tower at Sretenka Gate the Sukharev Tower in honor of the commander of the monitored there Strelets regiments Lavrenty Sukharev, the 1689 Peter I on the run from his half-sister Sofia Alexeyevna in the Trinity Monastery of Sergiev Posad had protected. The renovation in 1698–1701 gave the tower its final shape with a high clock tower in the middle. In 1699 Jacob Daniel Bruce set up the mathematics and nautical school there, and an astronomical observatory was built on the upper floor , so that the tower served as an astronomical tower . The Moscow office of the Admiralty was also housed there. In 1934 the tower was demolished as part of the modernization of Moscow.
1703-1711 Choglokow built for AF Kurbatow, Djak the armory of the Moscow Kremlin and head of the construction of the arsenal of the Moscow Kremlin, the 1656-1657 built Awerki-Kirillov Palace.
Tschoglokow was also active as a painter. He designed regimental flags, created frescoes in tsarist rooms and gave Peter I drawing lessons . He portrayed Ivan V and Natalia Kirillovna Naryshkina .
