Michelbach am Heuchelberg is a village in the Heilbronn district in Baden-Württemberg , which has been part of the Zaberfeld municipality since July 1, 1970 .
history
The place at the foot of the Heuchelberg was first mentioned in a document in 1276. The lords of Magenheim held local rule in the Middle Ages . Konrad II von Magenheim sold Michelbach with half of his entire property in 1321 to Margrave Friedrich II von Baden , from whom the property passed to the Lords of Vaihingen . 1356 came Michelbach an Württemberg , the place from 1392 to 1749 the Lords of Sternenfels to feud was, resided in the local "castle". In 1709 Johann Bernhard von Sternenfels built the "New Palace".
In 1939 there were 338 inhabitants, at the end of 1945 there were 394. On July 1, 1970, Michelbach was united with Zaberfeld to form the new municipality of Zaberfeld. Since several new development areas have been designated since then, the population has increased from 443 (Dec. 1970) to 674 residents (Dec. 2006).

Buildings
- The Protestant St. George's Church dates from 1787 in its current form, but with its Gothic choir tower still has parts of older predecessor buildings.
- The New Palace was built in 1709 by Johann Bernhard von Sternenfels. There is also a storage building from 1559 and a tithe barn nearby.
- The former town hall and wine press building is now a fire station.
