Mick Collins (musician)
Mick Collins ( 1938 - April 9, 2015 ) was a British jazz trumpeter and band leader .
Collins played in the 1960s and 1970s with Mike Westbrook , the Brotherhood of Breath , Centipede ( September Energy 1971) and with the Midnite Follies . In the 1970s he also worked in London with his own band projects, including a. with Stan Sulzmann , Alan Barnes , Guy Barker , Mark Nightingale , Nick Weldon , Chris Laurence and Bryan Spring . With his 16-piece big band , the Mick Collins Modern Jazz Orchestra , he has performed regularly at the HG Wells Center in Bromley for over forty years . The trumpeter should not be confused with the Canadian jazz cornetist of the same name.
