Miguel Angel Aguilar Miranda

Miguel Angel Aguilar Miranda (born April 5, 1939 in Quito ) is an Ecuadorian clergyman and emeritus military bishop of Ecuador .

Life

Miguel Angel Aguilar Miranda was ordained a priest on June 29, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Guaranda on April 11, 1991 . He was ordained episcopal on May 4th of the same year by the Archbishop of Quito , Antonio José González Zumárraga ; Co-consecrators were Raúl Eduardo Vela Chiriboga , military bishop of Ecuador, and Antonio Arregui Yarza , auxiliary bishop in Quito.

On February 14, 2004, he was appointed military bishop of Ecuador .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 18, 2014.
