René Coba Galarza
Segundo René Coba Galarza (born September 26, 1957 in Quito , Ecuador ) is an Ecuadorian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Ibarra .
Life
The Archbishop of Quito , Pablo Cardinal Muñoz Vega SJ , ordained him a priest on December 5, 1984 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on June 7, 2006 titular bishop of Vegesela in Byzacena and auxiliary bishop in Quito . The Archbishop of Quito, Raúl Eduardo Vela Chiriboga , donated him episcopal ordination on June 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Julio César Terán Dutari SJ, Bishop of Ibarra, and Néstor Rafael Herrera Heredia , Bishop of Machala .
On 18 June 2014 it appointed Pope Francis to the Military Bishop of Ecuador . On December 12, 2019, the Pope appointed him Bishop of Ibarra. The inauguration took place on February 1 of the following year.
