Julio César Terán Dutari
Julio César Terán Dutari SJ (born August 15, 1933 in Soná ) is a Panamanian priest and former bishop of Ibarra .
Life
Julio César Terán Dutari joined the religious community of Jesuits and was ordained a priest on July 25, 1963 . In 1985 he was elected Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE) in Quito . In 1991 he was elected President of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC).
John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Quito and titular bishop of Horrea on July 12, 1995 . The Archbishop of Quito Antonio José Cardinal González Zumárraga consecrated him bishop on September 30 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Luis Enrique Orellana Ricaurte SJ, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus in Quito, and José Mario Ruiz Navas , Bishop of Latacunga . On February 14, 2004, he was appointed Bishop of Ibarra .
On March 25, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation. From 2012 to 2015 he was Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Santo Domingo de los Colorados .
