The military ordinariate of Ecuador is a military ordinariate in Quito and is responsible for the armed forces of Ecuador .

history

The military ordinariate in Ecuador provides pastoral care to members of the country's armed forces, who belong to the Catholic denomination. It was erected by Pope John Paul II on March 30, 1983. By mutual agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of Ecuador, the seat of the military ordinariate is in Quito . From the proclamation of the papal bull of March 30, 1983, Juan Ignacio Larrea Holguín, the auxiliary bishop of San Salvador, became the first military bishop of Ecuador (military) on August 5, 1983.
