Miguel Caviedes Medina

Miguel Caviedes Medina (born January 30, 1930 in Coltauco ) is a Chilean clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Los Ángeles .

Life

The Bishop of Rancagua , Eduardo Larraín Cordovez , consecrated him as a priest on September 18, 1954 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Rancagua diocese .

John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Osorno on November 8, 1982, and he was instituted on January 2 of the next year. The Bishop of Rancagua, Alejandro Durán Moreira , ordained him episcopal on December 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Orozimbo Fuenzalida y Fuenzalida , Bishop of Los Ángeles , and Alberto Jara Franzoy , Bishop of Chillán .

On February 19, 1994 he was appointed Bishop of Los Ángeles and on March 18 of the same year he was appointed to the office. Pope Benedict XVI accepted his age-related resignation on January 7, 2006.
