Arne Mikael Johansson (born June 12, 1966 in Huddinge ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player and current coach , who played for Djurgårdens IF in the Elitserien during his active time from 1982 to 2005 . His brother Kent Johansson was successful as a professional ice hockey player and coach in Sweden and Switzerland.
Career
Mikael Johansson began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at Huddinge IK , for whose professional team he was active from 1982 to 1985 in Division 1 , which was still second at the time . He then got a contract with Djurgårdens IF , for which he played from 1985 to 1992 in the Elitserien . The attacker won the European Cup with the capitals in 1990 and 1991 and was Swedish champions three times in a row in 1989, 1990 and 1991 . From 1992 to 1997, the left shooter was on the ice for EHC Kloten in the Swiss National League A. With the Swiss he won the national championship in the first four seasons .
For the 1997/98 season Johansson moved to his ex-club Djurgårdens IF, with which he was again champion in 2000 and 2001. Following the 2004/05 season, he ended his career with his home club at the age of 38. Djurgården then decided not to give his number 25 anymore. In the 2008/09 season Johansson was as head coach behind the gang of Djurgårdens IF before he took over the post of assistant coach the following season.
International
For Sweden Johansson took part in the Junior World Championship in 1986 , as well as the World Championships in 1990 , 1991 , 1994 , 1995 and 1998 . He was also in Sweden's squad at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary and 1992 in Albertville .
