Mikalojus Lukinas

Mikalojus Lukinas (* 1906 in Panevėžys ; † 1987 ) was a Lithuanian forest scientist and pedagogue, head of a research institute and the Vilnius Forest Technology Center (now the Forestry School in Girionys ).

Life

In 1931 Lukinas graduated from forestry and in 1956 received his doctorate on oak forests in agricultural science from Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija . From 1931 to 1935 he worked as a district forester for Papilvis in the Jūrė Forest District . From 1935 to 1937 Lukinas was the deputy head forester of Varėna and from 1937 to 1939 of Dzūkija and taught at the Higher Forest School in Alytus . From 1939 to 1941 he worked as a forest technician in the Biržai Forest District .

From 1944 to 1950 Lukinas was director of the forest technology center in Vilnius and from 1945 to 1948 taught at the forestry faculty of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1950 Lukinas worked as a research assistant and from 1961 to 1970 as director at the Lietuvos miškų institutas in Girionys . From March 1951 he headed the chair for forest science , from March 14, 1952 the chair for forest cultures, from September 1, 1953 to 1961 the chair for forestry and organization at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija in Kaunas . From 1958 Lukinas taught as a lecturer , 1952 and 1957 headed the Faculty of Forestry of the Lithuanian Agricultural Academy as acting dean .

His grave is in the Šlienava cemetery , in the Kaunas district .
