Michael Terrance McKenzie (* 26. April 1976 in Miami , Florida ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks . He played for the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints in the National Football League .

College career

McKenzie graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in business management. Meanwhile, he played 32 games for the Tigers College Football . He finished his college career with 234 tackles, six interceptions, and two captured fumble .

NFL career

Green Bay Packers

In the 1999 NFL Draft , he was selected in the 3rd round in 87th place by the Green Bay Packers . McKenzie completed 69 games for the Packers until he was exchanged for the New Orleans Saints on October 4, 2004 . For him, the Packers got quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan and a 2nd round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.

New Orleans Saints

After the swap, McKenzie completed almost all of the games for the Saints until he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in week 16 of the 2007 season . The Saints placed him on the Injured Reserve list for the final game . After his injury, he was able to play six games in the 2008 season. At the end of November he was seriously injured again and had to be placed on the injured reserve again because he had broken his right kneecap . Even though McKenzie was no longer in the Saints' roster when they won Super Bowl XLIV , he was also awarded a Super Bowl ring in recognition of his achievements with the Saints.

Private life

Mike McKenzie lives in Metaire , Louisiana . He is a co-founder of the 34 Ways Foundation , which works for underprivileged youth in Miami , Florida , New Orleans , Louisiana, and Memphis , Tennessee, and other cities in the United States. He was voted New Orleans Saints Man of the Year 2007 for his work.
