Mikell’s was a New York jazz music venue that existed from 1969 to 1991.

Mikell’s was run by Mike Mikell and Pat Mikell. The venue was known for the numerous jam sessions for New York studio musicians . Paul Shaffer , the bandleader on the Late Show with David Letterman , called Mikell's “ soul heaven ”.

The Mikell's with English Pub atmosphere was in the district Upper West Side of New York district of Manhattan (760 Columbus Avenue at 97th Street), near the Columbus Square. Jazz musicians such as Richard Davis , Cornell Dupree , Joe Farrell / Joe Beck , Chico Hamilton , Roy Haynes , Robin Kenyatta , Junior Mance and the singer Queen Esther Marrow performed there from the early 1970s . Milt Jackson , Ray Brown , Cedar Walton , Mickey Roker , and Paquito D'Rivera also played there in the 1980s .

In the Mikell's resulting recordings of performances by John Tropea ( Live at Mikell's (1980)), u. a. with Jon Faddis , Randy Brecker , Lew Soloff , Lew Del Gatto , Ronnie Cuber and Don Grolnick and by Art Blakey and His Jazz Messengers ( New York Scene (1984)) with Terence Blanchard , Donald Harrison , Jean Toussaint , Mulgrew Miller , Lonnie Plaxico were released as an album. Blakey used Mikell’s as a rehearsal room.
