Mikko Strömberg (born March 5, 1979 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with HC Pustertal since January 2011 in the Italian A1 series .

Career

Mikko Strömberg began his career in the youth department of the Finnish team HIFK Helsinki , where he guarded the goal of the U18 and U20 teams for several seasons. In the 2000/01 season he came to the first appearances in the Finnish second division with Ahmat Hyvinkää , before he stood in the following season for his youth club HIFK, Haukat Järvenpää and again Ahmat Hyvinkää between the posts.

In the summer of 2002, Strömberg decided to move to Sweden and there signed a contract with Kiruna IF from HockeyAllsvenskan . In the same winter he moved back to his home country and was employed seven times at Kiekko-Vantaa . From 2003 to 2005 he played for the Finnish second division team Jukurit Mikkeli , where he was able to convince both years. In 2005 he made the jump to the top Finnish league , where he was active for two seasons with SaiPa Lappeenranta .

The 2007/08 season began Strömberg at Karpat Oulu , before the crucial stage of the championship for HC Innsbruck after Austria joined. He also started the following winter at HPK Hämeenlinna in Finland before signing another contract in Innsbruck. Between 2009 and 2011 he was under contract with Jokerit Helsinki and in 2010 played ten games with Kiekko-Vantaa. In early 2011, Strömberg received a contract with HC Pustertal from the Italian A1 series , which was finally extended for the 2011/12 season after a convincing performance.
