Mikko Uusipaikka (born March 22, 1976 in Toholampi ) is a former Finnish biathlete .

Mikko Uusipaikka lives and trained in Ullava , where he competed for UK Ullava . In 1994 he started biathlon. He made his debut in the biathlon world cup at the start of the 1998/99 season in Hochfilzen and was 58th of an individual. At the next station of the World Cup in Osrblie he won World Cup points for the first time as 21st in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit. The 21st place in the sprint was also his best result in the World Cup. He was also on the side of Ville Raikkonen , Paavo Puurunen and Vesa Hietalahti fifth with the Finnish relay. In RuhpoldingThe Finnish season was only a little later third with the same line-up. The high point of a successful season were the 1999 biathlon world championships in Kontiolahti , where the Finn finished 45th in the sprint and 57th in the pursuit. With the season, which again appeared in the line-up Raikkonen - Hietalahti - Uusipaikka - Puurunen, he ran to sixth place. In the following seasons Uusipaikka never again reached World Cup points. At the Holmenkollen in Oslo in 2000 he took part again in a World Cup where he was 50th in the individual. After a three-year break from the World Cup, Uusipaikka competed in several races in the World Cup in 2003 , but then ended his career.
