Milad Salem ( Persian میلاد سالم, * March 3, 1988 in Kabul ) is an Afghan football player who also has German citizenship .
Club career
Salem played in the junior division at Leher TS , later at Kickers Offenbach and Eintracht Frankfurt . In 2005/06 the striker was the top scorer of the Eintracht A youth team in the U-19 Bundesliga with eleven goals this season, but at the end of the season the team was relegated to third from bottom of the table from the highest German youth division. From 2007 to 2009 he was active for the second team of Frankfurter Eintracht, while in 2008 he qualified fourth for the Oberliga Hessen as fourth in the table for the Regionalliga Süd . Already during the league season only a supplementary player, he only made four appearances in the regional league and left the Frankfurt Eintracht at the end of the season. Salem moved back to the Hessian league to Germania Ober-Roden , who missed relegation despite his ten goals this season at the end of the season.
In the summer of 2010 he moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden . Originally planned for the second team in the Regionalliga Süd , he was able to recommend himself after good performance for the first team, which played in the 3rd division .
On July 1, 2012, he went to SV 07 Elversberg in the Regionalliga Südwest on a free transfer . He signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2014. The midfielder made his debut in the Elversberg jersey on August 4, 2012 (1st matchday) in a 2-1 win against SC Idar-Oberstein . Salem was used in a total of 27 games and scored one goal of the season - on March 27, 2013, he scored in a 2-0 win against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach . With Elversberg he managed to move up to the 3rd division , after reaching second place in the regional league and winning a total of 4: 3 against TSV 1860 Munich II in the promotion games. After just one year, the SVE, despite five goals and eight assists from Salem in 35 games, relegated to the Regionalliga.
Due to his good performance, Salem recommended himself and moved to VfL Osnabrück on July 1, 2014 within the 3rd division . There he signed a contract for two years until June 30, 2016. Due to knee problems in the second half of the season, he was only able to play 15 games. On May 18, 2015, it was announced that his contract would be terminated early on June 30, 2015 by mutual agreement.
For the 2015/16 season Salem signed a two-year contract with Holstein Kiel , who wanted to sign him the previous year. He signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2017. By mid-July 2015, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and fell out for several months. After playing in the reserve team three times, he played his first game for Kiel's first team on April 30, 2016 in a 1-0 win against VfB Stuttgart II . On the 1st match day of the 2016/17 season he tore a meniscus and was out until October. After his comeback, eight more games followed until the winter break, where he scored a goal.
During the winter break of the 2016/17 season, he moved back to his home in Hesse for FSV Frankfurt within the league . With the Bornheimers, however, Salem missed relegation and then rejoined SV Elversberg in the Regionalliga Südwest . At the Kaiserlinde, Salem signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2019, but left the club in summer 2018.
After having been without a club for a full season, Oberliga club Eintracht Trier signed him in the summer of 2019 . But only a year later Salem moved on to FC Gießen in the Regionalliga Südwest .
National team
For the international match against Tajikistan on November 13, 2016, Salem was nominated for the Afghan national team by national coach Petar Šegrt . This was, contrary to other statistics, which lead him with three missions for Afghanistan, his first nomination for the national team. The three appearances at the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 completed a player named Mohammad Salem Nahemi . Salem finally made his debut against Tajikistan and three more appearances followed by March 2018.
