Mini world
The Miniwelt is a miniature park in Lichtenstein (Saxony) that was opened in July 1999 and has had over 1.5 million visitors since then. On an area of more than 40,000 m², the park offers miniature models of famous buildings around the world on a scale of 1:25.
Individual data
- In the mini world there are over 100 buildings in the 2015 season.
- The tallest model in the mini world is the Berlin television tower with a height of 14.60 m.
- The largest and heaviest model in terms of surface area is the approximately ten-ton Cheops pyramid with a square base of 83.91 m².
- The smallest model is a replica of an Upper Lusatian half-timbered house .
- The longest model is the Göltzschtal bridge ; the model replica is 22.96 meters long.
- Most of the models are made from natural materials. In some models, parts of the materials used come directly from the same source that used to provide the resources to build the original. Smaller sculptures within the models are cast from plastics.
- There are still around 20,000 m² of undeveloped space on the Miniwelt site for models that are still being planned.
- Since it was founded in 1999, several models have been added every year. The preliminary goal is to build a total of 160 models.

Show workshop
Visitors to the mini world can also visit the demonstration workshop, in which one gets an insight into the production of some structures.

Mini cosmos
At the end of January 2007, in addition to the mini world , the mini cosmos was opened, which had around 20,000 visitors in the first six months.
