Miniature park

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A miniature park is an open-air amusement park , sometimes also as part of an amusement park , in which models of well-known sights or buildings typical for a region are reproduced to scale (usually 1:25) as the main attraction . Often a model railway of a suitable scale also runs between the structures .

The world's first miniature park is Bekonscot in Beaconsfield ( Buckinghamshire ), it was founded in 1929. The Klein-Erzgebirge in Oederan ( Saxony ) was opened in 1933 as the first German miniature park, based on the preparatory work begun in 1924 .
