Minoo Lenarz

Minoo Lenarz (born September 18, 1966 in Tehran , Iran as Minoo Moshrefi ; † December 2, 2015 in Hanover ) was an Iranian-German doctor and university professor.

Life

Minoo Moshrefi studied human medicine at the Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran from 1985 to 1993 . In 1997, she completed her specialist training in ear, nose and throat medicine in her home country with the best results nationwide. In the same year she received a scholarship from the DAAD for three years of advanced training in the field of skull base surgery in Germany and came to Hanover. She assisted Madjid Samii and Thomas Lenarz .

After studying at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles , she received her doctorate from the Hannover Medical School in 2001 . From 2002 to 2010 she headed the research group “Auditory Brainstem and Midbrain Implants” at the Hannover Medical School, where she worked with her future husband Thomas Lenarz . Here she was involved in the development of a central hearing prosthesis in the midbrain (Auditory Midbrain Implant). In 2008 she acquired the Venia Legendi for ear, nose and throat medicine with a habilitation thesis on this subject .

From 2010 she worked at the Charité , where in April 2012 she took over the management of the Clinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine on the Benjamin Franklin Campus . In the same year she received the license to train for ENT specialists from the Berlin Medical Association as well as for the additional designation "Plastic operations in the head and neck area". In 2015 she received an adjunct professorship at the Charité. As a reviewer, she worked for the European Archives Of Otolaryngology and Laryngoscope , among others .
