description

The Code contains the full text of the Gospels . It also contains the Ammonian divisions and the Eusebian Canon, which, however, is very sparing in John's Gospel . It includes illustrations of the evangelists . Lectionary markings are done in gold.

text

In Matthew 27:16 there is the well-known variant of the text "Ιησουν τον Βαραββαν". This reading can also be found in Codex Koridethi and the manuscripts of the text family f 1 .

Together with minuscule 162, minuscule 700 in Luke 11.2 adheres to the remarkable reading ελθετω το πνευμα σου το αγιον εφ ημας και καθαρισαλω ημας ("Your Holy Spirit come upon us and purify us" in place of your Holy Spirit εληιαεοε εστωαε εστω ") in the Lord's Prayer . This peculiar reading does not appear in any other manuscript, but it is derived from a very old archetype, as it is found in the text of Marcion of the Third Gospel and is also confirmed by the church father Gregory of Nyssa .

The text i John 8,8 contains together with U (030) , 73 , 331 , 364 , 782 , 1592 and some Armenian manuscripts the unique addition: ενος εκαστου αυτων τας αμαρτιας. This text variant can also be found in some Latin manuscripts in minuscule 264 , this variant is contained in John 8,6.

Hoskier found 2724 deviations from the Textus Receptus . Of these, 791 were omissions and 353 were additions. 270 text variants do not appear in any other manuscript.

The Greek text represents the Caesarean text type . Aland placed him in Category III .

The manuscript was examined by John William Burgon and described and compiled by Simcox and Scrivener .

The manuscript is in the British Library , Egerton 2610, London .
