Mirko Venturi

Mirko Venturi (born May 1, 1981 ) is an Italian racing driver .

Career in motorsport

Mirko Venturi began his career in karting at the age of ten and won several Italian championships in various racing classes until 1998. He celebrated his first successes in the monoposto in the Italian Formula Renault championship , where he finished third in the championship in 1999. After four unsuccessful appearances in the German Formula 3 championship in 2002, his career stalled and Venturi did not drive for four years.

In 2006 he returned to the racetracks and competed in the Italian touring car championship with a BMW 320i . This was followed by races in the Lamborghini Trafeo Cup , the Blancpain Endurance Series , the International GT Open , the European Le Mans Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship . In 2014 he competed in both the Sebring 12 hour race and the Le Mans 24 hour race . In Sebring he was 40th and in Le Mans 22nd in the overall standings.

In 2016 he became champion in the Italian Super GT3 championship .
