I'm gone at the age of sixteen is a half-hour short film by Mark Monheim from 2008. It tells the story of fifteen-year-old Jenny, who is about to start over after her parents split up. The actors include Lucie Hollmann , Anke Schwiekowski and Lutz Winde .

action

Jenny has just moved to a strange city with her mother and her little brother Moritz. Not all the moving boxes have been unpacked yet, so she has to face the next challenge: the first day at the new school. At first it seems as if the day that began with displeasure could be the promising start of a better life - until the past brutally catches up with Jenny and her family.

background

I am gone when I was sixteen was filmed in Munich in late summer 2007. The graduation film for Monheim's directing studies at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) was made in coproduction with Bayerischer Rundfunk . The project was financially supported by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and the Friends of the HFF Munich. The film premiered in January 2008 at the Max-Ophüls-Preis film festival in Saarbrücken , where it was screened in the first ever “Medium-length Film” competition. The Wiesbaden Film Evaluation Office awarded the film the title “Particularly valuable” and in February 2008 voted it “Short Film of the Month”. The film has been shown at over 20 film festivals on four continents, including Vienna Independent Shorts , the Budapest Short Film Festival and the Seattle True Independent Film Festival (all in 2008). Since the first broadcast on Bayerischer Rundfunk in September 2008, the film has also been broadcast by WDR, MDR, Eins Plus, Eins Festival, BR-Alpha and again by BR.
