Mitchell Cooper (born June 2, 1995 in Kippa-Ring , Queensland ) is an Australian athlete who competes in the discus throw .

Athletic career

Mitchell Cooper gained his first international experience at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in Douglas , where he finished fourth in the discus and seventh with the hammer. In 2012 he took part in the Junior World Championships in Barcelona and was eliminated there with 56.25 m in qualification. Two years later he reached the final of the Junior World Championships in Eugene and was sixth there with 61.77 m. In 2017 he took part in the World Championships in London and failed there with 57.26 m in qualification . In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in Australia for the first timeGoald Coast and took fifth place in the discus throw with 60.40 m.

Cooper is a graduate in Geography and History from Griffith University in Brisbane .
