Mediterranean (waters)
Mediterranean seas are large secondary seas that lie between continents.
The following Mediterranean seas exist on earth:
- (European) Mediterranean between Africa , Asia and Europe (a tributary of the Atlantic Ocean )
- Black Sea between Asia and Europe
- Marmara Sea between Asia and Europe
- Arctic Ocean ( Arctic Ocean ) between America , Asia and Europe
- Australasian Mediterranean between Asia and Australia (a tributary of the Pacific Ocean )
- Red Sea between Africa and Asia, considering the Arabian Peninsula as part of Asia (from a geological point of view, the Arabian Peninsula belongs to Africa, in this case the Red Sea would not be a Mediterranean)
- American Mediterranean , if you consider North and South America as separate continents (a tributary of the Atlantic Ocean)
The Caspian Sea between Europe and Asia is not a Mediterranean Sea, but an end sea , as it is completely surrounded by land.
