Mo Yingfeng

Mo Yingfeng ( Chinese  莫 应 丰 , born January 19, 1938 in Yiyang County, Hunan Province , † February 17, 1989 in Changsha , Hunan Province) was a Chinese writer.

Life

He was born the son of a poor casual laborer. From 1956 he studied art and music in Wuhan . From 1961 he then worked as a conductor , composer and lyricist in a cultural ensemble of the Chinese People's Liberation Army . After his discharge from the army in 1970, he led a literature group in Changsha. From 1978 until his death in 1989, he worked as a screenwriter at the Liaoning Film Studios in Beijing .

Mo Yingfeng wrote stories, short stories and novels for children. In his novel Jiangjun yin , he addressed the persecution of generals of the Chinese air force at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution in 1966/67. He secretly wrote the novel under politically dangerous circumstances. In 1982, however, he was awarded the Mao Dun Prize for this novel .
