General Mohamad Hasan

Mohamad Hasan (born March 20, 1920 in Muaradua , Palembang , South Sumatra , Dutch East Indies , † February 23, 2005 ) was an Indonesian general of the police (Jenderal Polisi) and diplomat .

Life

Hasan entered after visiting the Middelbare Opleiding School Voor Inlandsche Amtenaren (MOSVIA) on July 1, 1941 as a candidate in the local administrative service of the colony of the Dutch East Indies and was initially an employee of the resident of Palembang . After the conquest of the Dutch East Indies by the Imperial Japanese Army , he became a civil employee of the Japanese administration on March 1, 1942 . After Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945, he joined the National Police and became police chief of Pagar Alam in 1946 and deputy chief of police in Palembang in 1947. In 1949 he became head of administration of North Palembang and shortly afterwards chief of the Bengkulu police . In 1951 he became an officer in the Mobile Brigade (Brigade Mobil) in Sidoarjo and completed training as a Provost Marshal in the USA . He then completed an apprenticeship at the Scientific University of Police PTIK (Perguruan Tinggi Ilmu Kepolisian) in 1952 and 1958 and, after graduating in 1959, became Second Assistant to the Chief of National Police , General Soekarno Djojonegoro . After a brief assignment in the general police department, he became deputy head of the administrative department of the national police in 1962 and lecturer at the PTIK police academy in 1964. In 1965 he became a representative of the police in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Indonesia ABRI (Angkatan Bersenjata Republic of Indonesia) and deputy head of Division IV of the National Police , before he became inspector general for defense in 1967.

On October 3, 1971 General (Jenderal Polisi) Hasan was appointed by President Suharto to succeed General Hoegeng Imam Santoso as Chief of the National Police (Kepolisian Negara Republic of Indonesia) and remained in this post until June 24, 1974, after which General Widodo Budidarmo was his Succeeded. At the same time he was a member of the Consultative People's Assembly (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat) between 1973 and 1975 .

He then succeeded Soepardjo Roestam as ambassador to Malaysia in 1974 and remained in this post until 1978, when Makmun Murod was his successor.
