The Mombacher Carneval Verein 1886 eV "Die Bohnebeitel" or MCV Die Bohnebeitel for short is one of the ten oldest carnival associations of the Mainz Carnival . The association comes from today's Mainz district of Mombach .
The Bohnebeitel achieved national fame through the carnival session that has been broadcast on SWR television since 1997 .
Events
Carnival
The Bohnebeitel celebrate their Carnival on the weekends after the New Year up to and including the Sunday before Rose Monday . All sessions are usually sold out quickly because the session has become known nationwide since 1998, at the latest since it was broadcast live on tape on SWR television . The broadcast on television always takes place on the Tuesday before Weiberfastnacht , from 8.15 p.m. In contrast to the ' Mainz remains Mainz as it sings and laughs ' television session, there are no specifications from the broadcaster. In 2016, around 2 million viewers watched the broadcast of the session on SWR television - a record for the SWR broadcasting center in Mainz. Narrhalla is the great hall of the gym of the Mombacher Turnverein 1861 .
Street Carnival
The local administration is stormed on the second Saturday of the year at 11:11 a.m. with the participation of the Bohnebeitel. Furthermore, the Bohnebeitel traditionally take part in the Mainz Rose Monday procession . A day later, on Shrove Tuesday , the "scared Melle-Dienstagszug", named after the spread in Mombach is then in the home district of Mombach orache instead.
