Nick Benjamin

Nick Benjamin (* August 21, 1946 as Lutz Jörg Nicolai in Lüneburg ; † November 26, 2018 ) was a German voiceover , singer , presenter and actor . He was also a bard and hand-made speaker at the Mainz Carnival and as a ring announcer at boxing matches in Germany.

Life

Benjamin completed an apprenticeship as a banker before producing radio plays for children in 1970 and also working as a speaker. In 1983 he published the song Seals Mothers Have No Tears as Nick for Greenpeace , in which he campaigned against the seal hunt . In 1986 he came to radio and television as a speaker. In the same year he also spoke commercials, including as a Nesquik bunny, and as a leading figure Shrumpel in the children's program Babbelgam on RPR1 , later there as a presenter. He took on speaking roles in various radio plays, such as the title role in the Batman radio plays from 1989.

From 1988 he was mainly heard as an off-speaker on SWR television , ZDF , 3sat and Arte . From 1991 he moderated on SWR4 Rhineland-Palatinate . In 1997 the dialogues from The Jungle Book were re-spoken by him as a radio play. On Weiberfastnacht 2009 he hosted the program Our biggest carnival hits on SWR television together with Lotti Krekel . He played tenor banjo . He was known to a wide audience as a spokesperson for various television documentaries, including ZDF History . He appeared regularly as a bard and hand-made speaker at the Mainz Carnival , mainly at the MCV “Die Bohnebeitel” , including the song I'll get the filling out of crepe for you . His voice can be heard in the computer game Gothic 3 , published in 2006 , in which he was a voice actor. From 2006 to 2017 he played in the musical Feucht & Fröhlich in the Lower House of Mainz . Nick Benjamin lived in Heidesheim- Heidenfahrt and died in November 2018 after a long illness at the age of 72. In addition to his wife, he also leaves three children.
