Mona Mur
Mona Mur (actually Sabine Bredy ; * 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German musician, actress, producer and taekwondo athlete.
Career
Mona Mur founded the band Mona Mur & Die Mieter in 1982 with Gode (civil: Godehard Buschkühl) and the members of Einstürzende Neubauten Mark Chung , FM Einheit and Alexander Hacke . The band became known in the German punk scene , but only released one 12 ″ EP called Jeszcze Polska . This received international attention and was "Single of the Week" in London's New Musical Express . Mona Mur then began a solo career and could only be seen live on stage from 1984 to 1986. Their backing band consisted of FM Einheit, Alexander von Borsig , Nikkolai Weidemann, Tomas Stern and Siewert Johannsen and the sound engineer Raymond Watts.
Mur then worked with Dieter Meier , who produced her debut album Mona Mur for RCA in 1988 . The second album Warsaw , on which she accompanied Grzegorz Ciechowski and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra , was produced in 1990, but was not released until 2015 by Mystic Production Poland.
In the following years Mona Mur mainly dealt with the martial art Taekwondo , reached the 3rd DAN and as a member of the German national team was twice international German runner-up.
In 1996 Mona Mur founded Mona Mur Musikproduktion and has since created the sound for film productions and computer games such as Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days (2010). Since 1997 she works as com. mur with Heiko Daxl alias adm. daxl as a composer for art videos and video installations. The feature film Gegen die Wand contains three of her pieces. She has been working with En Esch since 2007 . Since then the duo has played numerous concerts in Europe and North America as well as at festivals, including the Wave-Gotik-Treffen , the Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau , the Alternativa in Prague and the Wroclaw Industrial Festival in Breslau . In 2009 Mona Mur & En Esch released 120 days - The Fine Art of Beauty and Violence as a joint album . In 2011 their second album, Do With me What you Want, was released .
In 2019 Mona Mur released her solo album Delinquent together with Ralf Goldkind . As a guest musician, u. a. Bettina Köster from malaria! and Anja Huwe from Xmal Germany appear. Also in 2019 Mona Mur performed at the important Polish festival 4 Kultury in the city of Łódź. The German Music Council sponsors their experimental song recital Henker und Jäger - About hatred as collective obsession . A first performance with the line-up FM Einheit, En Esch, Simone Kermes and Mona Mur took place in December 2019 at the Muffatwerk in Munich .
