Mona Pirzad

Mona Pirzad (born January 16, 1984 in Tehran , Iran ) is a German actress of Iranian origin.

Life

Mona Pirzad was born in Iran and has lived in Germany since she was two. She grew up in Hamburg , Schleswig-Holstein and Munich .

She was enthusiastic about theater, singing and dance at an early age and gained experience in these areas. After graduating from high school in Munich, she first decided to train as a foreign language correspondent. She is fluent in German , English , Spanish and Persian .

During a stay in Argentina, she decided to devote herself entirely to acting. After her return, she moved to her adopted home Berlin and began an acting training at the Charlottenburg Acting School in 2009 . Then Mona Pirzad stood in front of the camera for various films, series, short films and music productions. During her training, she stood in front of the camera for the film Ummah - Among friends with Frederick Lau and Kida Khodr Ramadan . In Karoline Herfurth's short film “Mittelkleiner Mensch” she took on the role of Argentine Zara.

Other roles in series and films such as Der Alte and SOKO 5113 followed . In Lars Becker's Night Shift - The Last Job , she played the role of the Syrian “Soraya Younes”, who is to be married off by a women's trafficking ring to pay off her debts to the smugglers. She also took on roles in the American action film Hitman: Agent 47 and the Bavarian comedy One for All, All in the Bucket .

In 2017 she traveled back to her native Iran for the first time to take on the leading role "Shirin" in the German-Iranian comedy Love in Persian (production title: "Grüß Gott, Persien" ) alongside Felix Klare and Günther Maria Halmer . The film was the first German production to be shot in Iran since the 1970s. It was first broadcast on ARD on October 19, 2018.

Pirzad lives in Munich and Berlin.
