Monika Eigensperger (born September 15, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and radio presenter . She has been FM4's program director since 1999, and ORF radio director since 2016 .

Live and act

Eigensperger started in 1980 as a freelancer at ORF in the Ö3 service editorial team and then worked as a music and broadcast designer ( Ö1 , Ö3 , ZickZack ) and as a reporter ( feature editorial team).

After successfully setting up the new Ö3 program “After School”, she entrusted Hans Leitinger in 1983 with setting up the new Ö3 youth program “Treffpunkt Ö3”, in which she also helped a number of radio talents ( Thomy Aigner , Dominic Heinzl ) to break through. From 1985 her smoky voice could also be heard on the radio. In 1987 she was named the best Ö3 presenter by the editors of Basta magazine for her way of moderating .

Further stations in her career at Ö3 were in 1992 when she was appointed head of the department for magazine broadcasts and the youth bar, and in 1993 she was the permanent deputy head of Ö3.

Since 1996 she has been the director of the youth culture channel FM4 , which was broadcast on the frequency of Blue Danube Radio . Under her leadership, FM4 advanced to a cult program with music outside the mainstream, successful productions such as Projekt X and Salon Helga ( Stermann & Grissemann ) and an award-winning FM4 corporate identity. After the program reform in 1999, Eigensperger was appointed FM4 station boss. On September 15, 2016 she was elected radio director of all ORF radio programs , as a member of the General Directorate Alexander Wrabetz III.

At ORF television, she worked for the TV hit parade The Big Ten and Am Schauplatz .
