Monta in sella, figlio di… is a spaghetti western in Spanish co-production that was not performed in the German-speaking area. Tonino Ricci directed the film with the American Mark Damon in the leading role.
action
The brothers Dean (known as Kansas Lee) and Sam Madison, as well as André and Agnès, who immigrated from France, earn their living cheating at poker. One day they accept the offer of a blind Mexican singer, Felipe, who wants to commit them as a gang to the large-scale theft of a treasure amassed by the Mexican General El Supremo.
Once in Mexico, the coup succeeds thanks to Agnès' seductive skills, which El Supremo cannot resist, and according to Felipe's plan. Then Felipe, who only faked his blindness, can get the four of them to leave the treasure to the revolutionaries of his home country.
criticism
"The film is not original in its story and not even in its final twist, and therefore quite mediocre, but at least bearable thanks to its cheerful tone and the fast-paced presentation of the incredible adventures" , wrote "Segnalazioni Cinematografiche"
Christian Keßler was more critical: "This western comedy is only a tad better than the" Storia di pugni e karatè "[cf. of the director Ricci], which means that it is difficult to see through. "
Remarks
According to Keßler, the soundtrack consists of previously published music by Bacalov.
