The road leading to the mud bath is named after Otto Stöber , the owner of the mud bath for many years .

history

A mud bath in Neydharting is mentioned as early as 1050. In 1264 this was in the possession of the Habsburg Emperor Rudolf I (HRR) . In 1364 it appears for the first time in documents from Lambach Abbey .

Paracelsus is said to have found his quintessence in the Neydhartinger Moor in 1525 .

Particularly prominent guests of the mud bath are to be mentioned:

The Kurhaus Villa Anna was built around 1750, the stone bath was built in 1810. After 1834, the moor bath Neydharting benefited from its location from the Budweis – Linz – Gmunden horse-drawn railway .

In 1943 Otto Stöber acquired the Bauern-Badl, founded a moor research institute there in 1945, developed the Heilmoor suspended matter, the Heilmoor drinking cure and the medical moor holistic theory. The foundation house was built in 1954 and the Paracelsushaus in 1959, and in 1971 the first circular indoor swimming pool in Austria was opened.

In 1954 the market town of Wimsbach decided to expand its name and has been called Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting ever since. The municipal coat of arms, awarded in 1982, also refers to the mud bath with the bathing equipment it contains and the black Drudenfuß on it.

From 1989 to 2001 the mud bath was completely renovated by an operating company owned by Stephan Wagner and after the construction of another building in 2007 (sun house), the health center's offerings were expanded to include a rehabilitation clinic for diabetes and metabolic diseases.

The health center is part of a group of 15 facilities with 2000 beds and 1000 employees.
