Psychiatrist Dr. Wendelin Winter believes in the innocence of the young Anna Eichner, who is said to have shot her own father. The well-being of Anna Eichner is important to the psychiatrist because he now finally wants to do something good for her. A few years earlier he was unable to prevent Anna's mother from suicide.
