Sebastian Tessenow

Sebastian Tessenow (* 1985 in Altdöbern ) is a German actor .

Life

Sebastian Tessenow, born near Cottbus , grew up in Neubrandenburg ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). Inspired by his father, who danced ballet and folklore , Tessenow was initially enthusiastic about the sport of dance and in his youth he went to dance tournaments almost every weekend until he graduated from high school. His interest in acting was first aroused by the theater group at his school.

After an initially unsuccessful audition while preparing for the Abitur at the Rostock University of Music and Theater , he studied drama from 2006 to 2010 at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig .

Tessenow was initially a member of the acting studio at Theater Chemnitz . There he stepped u. a. in Macbeth , in Jean-Paul Sartre's The Dirty Hands and as Valentin in Urfaust . For the 2010/11 season, Sebastian Tessenow went to the Essen theater . In 2012 he returned to the Chemnitz Theater, where he appeared as Peter Munk in Shirin Khodadian's production of Das kalte Herz and as Aaron in the world premiere of Das Weiß am Ränder der Nacht (director: Alexandra Wilke ). He also worked there with Dieter Boyer , Nuran David Calis and Enrico Lübbe .

From 2013 to 2016 Sebastian Tessenow was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Leipzig . He stepped there u. a. as Alwa in Lulu (director: Nuran David Calis), as Leander in Grillparzer's Des Meeres und der Liebe Wellen (director: Mateja Koležnik ), as Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe (director: Georg Schmiedleitner ), in Heiner Müller's Wolokolamsker Chaussee I – V (Director: Philipp Preuss ) and in the title role of Baal (Director: Nuran David Calis). In the 2016/17 season, Tessenow was still engaged as a guest at the Schauspiel Leipzig.

Sebastian Tessenow has been a permanent member of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus ensemble since the 2016/17 season . There he played u. a. John Proctor in witch hunt (2017, director: Evgeny Titov ), college friend Labude in Fabian or the walk to the dogs (2017, director: Bernadette Sonnenbichler ), Bassanio in Der Kaufmann von Venedig (2018, director: Roger Vontobel ), the people's tribune Junius Brutus in Coriolan (2019, directed by Tilmann Köhler ), and in the 2019/20 season the Duke of Suffolk in Henry VI & Margaretha di Napoli (based on William Shakespeare by Tom Lanoye, directed by David Bösch ). In his stage roles, Tessenow is particularly characterized by his "body-intensive play". He was also on stage in Düsseldorf in the song recitals “Boys don't cry and girls just want to have fun” and “I build my time” developed by André Kaczmarczyk .

Tessenow also worked in short films as well as in some television productions.

His leisure activities include walks and hikes in nature. In his private life, Tessenow and his fellow actor Florian Lange from Düsseldorf were involved in the “Mongol Rally” for an SOS Children's Village in Darchan , Mongolia .

Tessenow lives in Düsseldorf .
