Morey field (born August 15, 1915 in Cleveland (Ohio), † March 28, 1971 in Bow Mar , Colorado ) was an American drummer of Dixieland jazz and swing .

Live and act

Field took off in 1933 drumming autodidact in 1936 and was a member of the band of Ben Pollack . He then worked with Joe Haymes , with Bud Freeman and the band Summa Cum Laudae (1940), Benny Goodman (1943 through 1945), where he also in the musical film Sweet and Low-Down participated from 1944 to 1946 at Eddie Condon to play. He has also performed with Billy Butterfield , Peanuts Hucko and Bobby Hackett . Between 1955 and 1960 he worked in management for the American Broadcasting Company . In the 1960s he returned to the scene, played again with Condon, led his own bands and opened a drum school. In 1968 he moved to California before playing with Hucko again in Denver ; he also became the founding drummer of the World's Greatest Jazz Band that same year . Feld, who also recorded with Buddy Clark (1939), Sarah Vaughn (1944), Slam Stewart (1945), Teddy Wilson (1945), Ella Fitzgerald , Red Norvo, and Wild Bill Davison , died in an apartment fire.
