Morris Almond (born February 2, 1985 in Dalton ) is an American basketball player . His preferred position is that of the shooting guard .
Career
Morris Almond began his college career at Rice University with the Rice Owls . In the 2006/07 season he averaged 26.4 points and was named the best player in Conference USA . At the 2007 NBA Draft , he was selected as the 25th first-round pick by Utah Jazz . During his two seasons at jazz , however, he only made 34 appearances, mostly he played for the Utah Flash in the NBA D-League , where he was 53 on January 30, 2008 in his team's 102:87 victory over the Bakersfield Jam Set the D-League points record. In September 2009, he undertook the Orlando Magic games Preaseason, but after only four he left this direction D-League, where he in 2009/10 first for Springfield Armor and from 15 February 2010 for the Maine Red Claws was active .
In April 2010 he signed a contract with the Spanish first division club Real Madrid that ran until 2012 , but moved to Italy in the summer of the same year, to Victoria Libertas Pesaro . After he was briefly active in Ukraine for the Cherkassky Mawpi , Almond moved back to the Maine Red Claws in the NBA D-League in early 2012. He received a contract with the Washington Wizards in 2012 , for which he played 4 games and scored 3.5 points per game.
After the season he moved to Serbia to KK Red Star Belgrade , but stayed only a short time before returning to the D-League . In 2013 he was under contract with the Los Angeles D-Fenders .
