Morten Søborg

Morten Søborg (born August 18, 1964 ) is a Danish cameraman who is known for his "dark and raw style" and often works with Susanne Bier and Nicolas Winding Refn . Well-known films include In a Better World  (2010), which won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film , and After the Wedding  (2006), which was also nominated for an Oscar.

Life

After studying at Den Danske Filmskole from 1985 to 1989, Søborg quickly became the head cameraman. In 1988 he was still camera assistant for the comedy film Jydekompagniet , and in 1990 he was the head cameraman for the film Casanova . In addition to his work as a cameraman, Søborg surprisingly continued to take on the assistance of various productions.

With six nominations, Søborg is one of the most frequently nominated cameramen for the Danish Robert Film Award, without being able to win the award. In 2005, however, he won a Bodil , next to Robert the second most important Danish film award, for best cameraman.

Søborg and Livet är en schlager have been working together for many years with the Danish director Susanne Bier . He was not only a camera assistant on a new opportunity , but also cameraman in Open Hearts , Brothers - Between brothers and with the Oscar for foreign language Best Picture winning In a Better World . The film Serena can currently be seen in cinemas.
